Be sure to come in fresh and clean before your appointment. You don't want any sweat, chlorine or grime rubbed into your skin. Plus, it's just the polite thing to do for your massage therapist. If you have time, a nice, warm shower can help relax your mind and your muscles before your treatment.

Changes In Behavior

The therapist might seem more flirtatious, and even seductive. You might find the session dwells on personal conversations, instead of focusing on treatment. Changes in body language might not be immediately obvious, but they can indicate a shift in the relationship.

It's a good idea not to remove all of your clothing unless your therapist has requested you do so. Removing too much clothing can create an uncomfortable situation for both you and your massage therapist. Another important thing to avoid during a massage is making noises.

Generally speaking, you should wear something comfortable and stretchy on the legs (tights or joggers) and try not to wear belts, pants, or shorts with next to no stretch or lots of pockets.

Dress down to your comfort level.

Rest assured that your massage therapist will keep your body covered up the entire time. If they're not working on a particular area, it will stay covered up underneath a blanket or sheet. If you don't want to take any of your clothes off, let your massage therapist know.

Take off only as much clothing as you are comfortable removing. If you don't want to remove your clothing, wear clothing that will be comfortable during the massage and will allow the massage therapist to touch and move the areas of your body you expect will need to be massaged.

If you ask them not to touch your butt, and they insist on touching it anyway, that's not okay. If they refuse to have a conversation about comfort zones, or if they try to pressure you into doing things you don't want to do, you're within your rights to say, no thanks, we're not doing this today.
