A hectic start to the season continued in Florida high school football, and the state's top recruits shined in the process.
Venice survived an overtime bout with Northwestern behind a dominant effort from Jamarice Wilder, while First Academy unseated Edgewater in hostile territory behind some late heroics from Demetrice McCray, and Wisconsin commit Nicholas Clayton feasted in Buchholz' win over Vero Beach.

Jamarice Wilder, Venice RB
Commitment: James Madison
Wilder was unstoppable in Venice's 48-42 overtime win over Northwestern, tallying 314 yards on the ground with a pair of touchdowns on 37 carries. In the words of Indian head coach John Peaco*ck, "give my man his fourth star, please. Please!"
Dia Bell, American Heritage QB
Commitment: Texas
Bell, a junior, played just three quarters in the Patriots' 51-12 win over Western, but not before hanging 332 yards in the air and five touchdowns on 16-of-22 passing.
LaJesse Harold, Gaither EDGE
Commitment: LSU
Harold recorded four solo tackles, three tackles for loss, three sacks, and two forced fumbles in the Cowboys 27-7 win over Plant.
Lazaro Rogers, East Lee County RB
Commitment: Northern Illinois
Rogers put on a show in the Jaguar's 43-0 win over Gateway. Nearly a third of the senior's touches went for touchdowns, and he finished the night with six scores and 246 rushing yards on just 19 touches.

Brady Hart, Cocoa QB
Commitment: Michigan
The Tigers cruised past defending 3S state champion Mainland 51-0, led by Hart's 331 passing yards and four touchdowns on 18-of-30 passing.
Tae'shaun Gelsey, Riverside WR
Commitment: Florida
Gelsey made big plays all night for the Generals, and finished with five touchdown receptions in the 48-39 win over Riverside.
Javion Hilson, Cocoa EDGE
Commitment: Florida State
In a 51-0 shutout over Mainland, Hilson managed six total tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, and a quarterback hurry.
Nicholas Clayton, Bucholz EDGE
Commitment: Wisconsin
Clayton registered five total tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and three quarterback hurries in the Bobcat's 38-23 win over Vero Beach.
Demetrice McCray, First Academy WR
Offers Include: North Carolina, Mississippi State, Central Florida, Ole Miss
McCray had 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns on just six catches, including the game-winning 68-yard touchdown catch with just over a minute remaining that erased a 10-point fourth quarter deficit. Thanks to McCray's go-ahead score, the Royals handed Edgewater their first regular season home loss since 2016-17, 28-24.
Grant Wise, Pace OL
Offers Include: Georgia, Florida, Miami, Ohio State, Alabama
Wise, a junior, tallied nine pancake blocks while allowing no sacks or hurries as Pace tallied 220 rushing yards in a 34-20 loss to a Pensacola Catholic line that boasts four Division I players up front.
Calvin Russell, Northwestern WR
Offers Include: Miami, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida State
The state's top-ranked wide receiver took three of his five receptions (with 148 receiving yards) for touchdowns in a nail-biting overtime loss to Venice.
Ty Hawkins, IMG QB
Commitment: Southern Methodist
Hawkins punched in three touchdown runs and threw for another in the Crusader's 27-14 win over New Jersey powerhouse Bergen Catholic with legendary head coach Bill Belichick in attendance.
Jayvon Boggs, Cocoa WR
Commitment: UCF
Boggs was Cocoa's mainstay in a 51-0 win over Mainland, and tallied 222 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 11 catches.
Shawn Simeon, Naples RB
Commitment: Toledo
Simeon registered 158 rushing yards and four touchdowns on just 10 touches in a dominant 64-7 win over cross-town rival Barron Collier.
Brunno Reus, Venice K
Commitment: USF
Reus was elite in the Indians' win over Northwestern. He had a 53-yard field goal, and booted a 42-yard field goal at triple zeroes that forced overtime, despite the kick getting tipped at the line of scrimmage.
Jershaun Newton, Clearwater Central Catholic QB
Commitment: Illinois
Newton put together 200 yards in the air on 14-of-21 passing along with 77 yards on the ground in the Marauders' 43-8 win over Sebring.
Tramell Jones, Mandarin QB
Commitment: Florida State
Jones threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns on just four attempts before being carted off with a leg injury in Mandarin's 47-0 win over Atlantic Coast.
